Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: The special significance of Hartalika Vrat Teej has been mentioned in Hindu religious texts. According to Bhavishya Purana, the most important fast of Bhadrapada month is Haritalika Teej. In Sanatan Dharma, this sacred Hartalika Teej fast is observed on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. It is believed that women observe this fast for unbroken good fortune and a happy married life. This fast is considered to be the most difficult of all the fasts because women observe this fast without water. Unmarried girls observe Hartalika Teej fast to get a suitable groom. For Hartalika Teej fast, women’s make-up items, sweets, fruits and clothes are sent from their maternal home.

Hartalika teej Best Puja muhurat: Hartalika Teej fast date, auspicious time and puja method – Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start on 17th September, Sunday at 9.43 am and will start on 18th September at 10.27 am. Will end in minutes. Therefore, Uday Kalik Tritiya Tithi will be kept on Monday, 18th September. Two auspicious times are being formed for the worship of Hartalika Teej. The first auspicious time is in the morning and the second is in Pradosh Kaal i.e. after sunset. Morning time – 06 am to 07:30 am and 9 am to 10:25 am. It is an auspicious time for the worship of Hartalika Teej. This is an auspicious time for worship and fasting. Pradosh Kaal Puja Muhurat – The auspicious time for puja is from 05:50 pm to 07:30 pm. In this Muhurta, worshiping Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi along with Lord Vishnu will be especially beneficial.

According to the story, Mother Parvati performed severe penance for Lord Shiva. Actually, Mother Parvati had an unwavering love for Lord Shiva since childhood. Mother Parvati wanted to have Lord Shiva as her husband for many of her births. For this, he started rigorous penance since childhood on the banks of Ganga in the Himalayan Mountains. Mother Parvati had given up food and water in this penance. She used to chew only dry leaves for food. Seeing such condition of Mother Parvati, her parents became very sad. One day Devrishi Narad went to Lord Vishnu’s father with a marriage proposal for Parvati. Mother Parvati’s mother and father were very happy with his proposal. After this he narrated this proposal to Mother Parvati. Mother Parvati was very sad to receive this news, because in her mind she had accepted Lord Shiva as her husband. Mother Parvati told her problem to her friend. Mother Parvati rejected this marriage proposal.

Parvati ji told one of her friends that she would accept only Bholenath as her husband. On the advice of her friend, Parvati ji worshiped Lord Shiva in a cave in the dense forest. On the day of Bhadrapada Tritiya Shukla, in Hasta Nakshatra, Parvati ji made a Shivalinga out of clay and worshiped it duly and kept vigil throughout the night. Pleased with Parvati’s penance, Lord Shiva accepted Mother Parvati as his wife.

It is said that through the rigorous penance with which Mother Parvati attained Lord Shiva, all the women who observe this fast should have a long married life and a happy married life. It is believed that those who observe this fast with full devotion and rituals, get the groom as per their wish.

Hartalika Teej puja Correct method

  1. Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped in Haritalika Teej.
    ★Therefore, fasting women should wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath with sesame and Indian gooseberry powder, after retiring from their daily activities. After wearing new or clean clothes
    ★ At the sacred place, fill the square with flour, make a banana pavilion, make the earthly idols of Ganesha, Shiva and Parvati and take the first resolution of facing east. Whatever is good in the mind. Then worship with the available materials.
  2. First of all, make idols of all three from clay and offer Durva to Lord Ganesha by applying Tilak.
  3. After this, offer flowers, Belpatra and Shamipatri to Lord Shiva and offer makeup items to Mother Parvati.
  4. After offering clothes to the three deities, listen or read Haritalika Teej Vrat Katha.
  5. After this, perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha and after performing the Aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, offer Bhog.
